Genealogical Research
The Court of the Lord Lyon does not undertake genealogical research for members of the public.
A person who wishes to consult a professional genealogist should contact The Association of Scottish Genealogists and Researchers in Archives at www.asgra.co.uk.
Reference can also be made to the following books available in many public libraries:
- "Scottish Family History" by Margaret Stuart and Sir James Balfour Paul (Oliver & Boyd, 1930).
Introduction regarding nature, form and sources for family histories, useful to both inquirers and family historians, and Index of published Family Histories to 1928.
